Conwy
Conwy is one of the finest remaining medieval walled towns in Britain. Edward 1’s imposing fortress castle was completed in 1287. From the soaring towers discover breathtaking views towards Snowdonia and the estuary of the River Conwy and the Great Orme.
The walls retain three of the original gateways, and make an exciting walk, with views of the town and the pretty yacht filled harbor. Conwy is a member of the European Walled Towns, which has nearly one hundred-member towns throughout Europe.
Legend says that the Romans were attracted to Conwy by its pearls. The fascinating story of Conwy’s traditional thriving mussel fishing industry is told at the Conwy Mussel Centre on the quay.
You can take a stroll through the gardens of Bodlondeb Park and you will discover the Victorian residence of Albert Wood, who was one of Conwy’s great benefactors. It is now the home of Conwy County Borough Council. The surrounding ancient woodland offers autumnal seasonal colours and bluebells in the Spring, with spectacular views to the estuary and castle.
A visit to Conwy would not be complete without a look around Britain’s Smallest House. Built originally as a fisherman’s cottage, its last occupant was 6” 3” tall but amazingly the house measures only 10’ by 4’2”.
Behind Plas Mawr, The Royal Cambrian Academy Gallery is an inspiring place with a well-earned reputation for showing some of the finest art in Wales.
Conwy Guildhall is home to Conwy Town Council, The Mayor’s Parlour, with its beautiful art works and Council Chamber may be booked for civil ceremonies.

Conwy Castle
Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1826, the graceful suspension bridge spans the river and was built to link the Holyhead coach road. It is surely the crowning glory of the famous bridge-builder’s career. Visit the Toll House and its traditional garden, in the care of the National Trust.
Conwy Nature Reserve
Get closer to nature at RSPB’s Conwy reserve. Explore the wetland, discover frogs, dragonflies and butterflies in summer, or marvel at thousands of waterbirds on the estuary in winter. We have quizzes, trails and activities to keep even the youngest visitors entertained, and an outdoor PlaySpace for the kids to explore while you enjoy a cuppa or a picnic.

Britain’s Smallest House

Conwy Water Gardens
Situated just outside Conwy in a town called Rowen. Conwy Water Gardens is set amidst a woodland valley you’ll enjoy walking through the tranquil surroundings discovering pheasants, miniature ducks. You can feed the ducks and chickens and see Capybaras in their purpose-built enclosure.
The Dutch Pancake House is fully licensed and you can try their delicious pancakes. With over 60 to choose from there is something for everyone including Gluten free.
There is a Childrens Play area and Aquatic Centre. The Aquatic centre stocks over 100 species of fish – cold water (including Koi), tropical and one of the largest selections of Marines & Corals in North Wales.

Llandudno Junction
Gentle walk, cycle or jog the scenic coastal path from Conwy to Deganwy. A thirty five minute walk will bring you to sunny Deganwy with its busy restaurants and elegant shops. Stay and watch the spectacular sunsets. Visit the Castle Ruins on top of the Vardre, and enjoy the spectacular views. Or take the route from Conwy to the RSPB reserve in Llandudno Junction. Observe ducks, curlew, oyster catchers, herons and so many others. Stop for a welcome paned – a cup of Welsh.
